Atomic bombs and nuclear reactors — simulated

The concept of the critical mass in nuclear physics, is to determine whether you have a stable configuration or an exponentially increasing power source.

Some scientist were hard at work in order to release the exponential power in the trinity test — the first atomic device, while others were hard at work in the Chernobyl accident to try and stop exponential power.

But today I will explore why the critical mass causes is a very vague concept, and it is no really about the mass. While exploring this topic, I will show how an atomic bomb and a nuclear reactor operate. I am going to visualize this with the help of simulations that captures real physics. You will be able to understand the core principles.

Please note; I am not here to talk about the ethics or politics regarding nuclear devices and atomic power plants waste products. I am a physicist and I want to educate the curious mind. Furthermore, I also believe, tackling these issues begins with understanding of the engineering and natural science.
